Copi takes down Omaha Hi-Lo event at WCOOP
By Erik Sylven
Player Copi, an Austrian, mastered the complexities of Omaha Hi-Lo to take home Event 8 of the 2007 PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker. The most recent WCOOP champion received close to $88,000 for his victory.
The $500 Omaha Hi-Lo Limit event attracted 917 players and it took Copi almost 14 hours to defeat the opposition and walk away with winnings of $87,882.
The announced first prize was $103,000, but a deal was made with four players remaining in the tournament. Copi was chip leader at the time, and never lost control of the tournament. He wore down his rivals with solid play and eventually scooped the final hand against runner-up SKOAL.
