Parkland, Florida's Matt Waxman won the $1,650 WSOP Circuit Main Event Championship at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City Tuesday night.

The 25-year-old pro, whose career best cash remains a sixth-place finish in the 2009 WSOP $5k Six-Max event for $138,393, collected $117,797 for his first big live win.

“I’ve been winning a lot of major online tournaments, but only coming close in the live ones, so it really feels great to lock one up,” he told WSOP staff.

The event drew 352 players to Atlantic City, New Jersey including East Coast stars like Amnon Filippi, Dwyte Pilgrim, Paul Darden and Matt Brady.

Many of the big names dropped from contention as they played to 71 on the first day and down to the final nine Monday.

Brandon Croft held the chip lead going into the final table with Waxman hot on his heels.

With the win, Waxman’s career live tournament earnings now total more than half a million dollars.

There are five more official WSOP Circuit Events set to go off in Atlantic City, including the $10,000 Regional Championship beginning Sunday, Dec. 19.
