This is the second WSOP Main Event final table for 888poker pro Russell Thomas and we caught him on the break to see how he does it. Since earning $2.8 million at last year's October Nine final table Thomas has been traveling the world, playing poker and fulfilling his lifelong dream of reading more books.
Feels great to come back to a final table at the world series of poker. It's unfortunate I'm the short stack the table now. But there's a lot of good players left, and it's been fun so far.

I think the poker community can definitely support it, there are a lot of spots in this field actually. I think a lot more people going to come next year. There is only 400 or 500, but I think more than 500 will come next year. Michael [inaudible 00:00:30] at the final table is an example of that. He is very, very passionate, very emotional.

The biggest difference in my life is definitely travelling everywhere. Have been in France, Spain, Australia, Bahamas, Mexico. Working a real job you don't get those opportunities, so that was definitely the biggest change for me.

I'm not focused on getting first or anything, I have such a short stack. It's just picking the right spots, hoping to double, and then eventually maybe having the opportunity to win, but I'm just trying to double at this point.

My biggest poker goals now are to learn pot limit Omaha and the mix games so I can play some of the other tournaments during the series, because I only play [inaudible 00:01:07] and hold 'em right now, so that's something I want to work on next few months, I think.

The free time's allowed me to read. I haven't had a chance to read books, with working and studying all the time in my old job. So now that I travel, I'm on planes a lot, I can read a lot of books which is cool.
