Mikel Habb is only a recreational poker player but tonight he's got a shot at winning $1 million and the first ever World Series of Poker Asia Pacific main event title. We caught Habb on a break from the final table to talk about why he loves poker and what's so special about this inaugural event.

I was playing with my friends online just for fun for maybe one, two months. And I've not been playing for a long time, I've been playing maybe nine or ten or twelve months. And yeah, that's it, they just, play a token and I got better at it and I thought oh, yeah. I start playing, you know, cash games, and after that I changed it to tournaments.

Oh a lot of people love to play poker. A lot of poker players play in tournaments more than cash games because, I don't know why they do that, but yeah. Yeah, I'm a businessman, I do properties. I just play for fun for poker but it looks like I'm good at it. Yeah, of course, you're probably going to start talking rubbish and stuff, it's just because I'm having fun, you know what I'm saying. But usually I'm not like that in real life; just for fun, that's all.

It's cool to play with Daniel, it's very cool. He's a good player. And it is very hard to beat him. The money's not the problem for me, I just want to win because being a poker player playing with the best in the world is very important for me, so I hope I do good, that's all. Give that to my mother. Everything I get, the prizes and the money, are for my mother.
