Jennifer Shahade Hopes a Woman Makes WSOP November Nine

Many people, Jennifer Shahade included, think it would be great for poker if a woman made the WSOP Main Event final table. Since the tournament took on the delayed November Nine final table format in 2008, it's been an exclusively male affair. In 2012 two women bubbled the final table, which was by far the closest we've come to having a female November Niner. Shahade, who is also a ranked chess player, said that a woman making the final table would make the game less intimidating for other women and could inspire them to participate. This year Shahade finished 204th out of 6,737 and when she busted, four other women were still in the hunt for a spot among the November Nine.
