Vahedi champions Ultimate Poker Challenge III

Pro player Amir Vahedi beat out 54 competitors, including defending champion Andy Bloch, to take home first place at the Ultimate Poker Challenge III on November 29 in Las Vegas.

Vahedi was awarded $181,390 for his number one finish. Second place winner Chip Jett collected $106,700 for his efforts, while defending champion Andy Bloch left the final table in eighth place and received $21,340.

Hosted at the Plaza Hotel & Casino, the television tournament boasted a playing field of some of the industry's top players, including Vahedi, Jett, and Bloch, Layne Flack, John Phan, Ted Forrest, Men Nguyen, Kristy Gazes, Michael Mizrachi, Scotty Nguyen, Clonie Gowen, Joe Sebok, Mark Seif, Phil Hellmuth, Allen Cunningham, Barry Greenstein, Martin De Knijff, Bob Stupak, Kido Pham, Lee Watkinson, and David Williams. The buy-in was $10,000 + $200 and only the first ten spots were paid from the $533,500 prize pool.
