U.S. player wins WCOOP Seven-Card Stud event Monday

An American player who goes by the name nikstar won more than $39,000 during the Seven-Card Stud event of the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) Monday on PokerStars.com.
More than 650 players showed up to play in the event, nearly doubling the $100,000 guaranteed prize pool to $197,100. For a buy-in of $320, the top 88 players received as little as $473.04, or as much as nikstar's prize of $39,548.
The final table of eight came down to five players from the United States, two from Germany, and one from Denmark. In the end, nikstar went heads-up against Sassenage of Germany, eventually coming out on top for the cash prize and a WCOOP gold bracelet.
