For the second consecutive night Gus Hansen put on a high stakes clinic on Full Tilt, smashing his opponents to the tune of $500k.

Hansen’s primary opponent was Scott “URnotINdanger2” Palmer, who, after a fast start in 2011 has run into a wall.

The pair played 867 hands of heads-up $500/$1,000 PLO. Hansen’s victory was never really in question as he started out by winning $354k on a single table.

At one point Palmer was down over $500k but later in the session he made a courageous effort to get even and won $252k on one table and another $218k on a different table.

Ultimately it wasn’t enough as Hansen continued to pound him on other tables but it did soften the blow of his loss. By the time the final chip had been tallied, Palmer lost $385k to Hansen.

After peaking at a little over $1 million earlier this year, Palmer has been bleeding cash. He's now down by nearly $1 million.

Hansen wasn’t finished, however, and he went on to play a short session of $300/$600 Pot-Limit Omaha against Phil “OMGClayAIken” Galfond. In 29 hands Hansen pummeled Galfond for $130k.

Thanks to the previous night’s $300k victory, Hansen is up nearly $1 million on Full Tilt in the last 48 hours. The Great Dane is now getting dangerously close to being the first $5 million winner in online poker in 2011.

No online player is even close to Hansen with gavz101 holding second place with $1.8 million in profit.

Some of the other winners from last night included Sauce123 (+$195k), slipped away (+$113k), Tight-Man1 (+$50k) and Justin “ZeeJustin” Bonomo (+$35k).

Palmer and Galfond weren’t the only players to lose large sums either as Martin Kabrhel (-$112k), Also11 (-$92k) and gaaaaaabie (-$47k) all had less than ideal nights.
