UltimateBet puts a price on players' heads
By Erin Warner
UltimateBet has you in its crosshairs. The online poker room is firing up a new series of bounty tournaments and the target is its customers.
The nightly events see a bounty placed on every player and for each competitor you personally knock out, you collect the reward placed on his head.
The style, says UltimateBet, allows players to walk away from the tournaments with plenty of cash without ever winning an event.
Daily bounty tournaments are already underway. The site hosts a 7 p.m. $5,000 guaranteed event for a $35+$3 buy-in, with $5 allotted to the bounty pool. Also scheduled is a 9 p.m. $4,000 guaranteed at the cost of $6+$1, with $1 destined for the bounty.
The final evening event takes place at 10:30; it's a $5,000 guaranteed event for a pricier $60+$5, but $10 of that goes toward the bounty pool.
