A total of 233 players entered the second Day 1 flight of the PokerStars UKIPT Edinburgh main event in Scotland Friday.

With 168 from the first Day 1 flight Thursday, the total number of players in the UKIPT's first foray into Scotland drew a total of 401 players making for a £200,500 prize pool.

A total of 56 players will make the money with the win worth £50,000.

The voice of poker in the UK, Jesse May joined the Day 1b field, alongside the new face of poker in the UK, EPT San Remo champion Liv Boeree.

Team PokerStars Pros JP Kelly, Julian Thew, Jude Ainsworth and Victoria Coren also hit the felt for Day 1b.

Any and all survivors from the day will join some 59 players who made it through to Saturday's Day 2 from the first Day 1 flight.

Irishman Owen Robinson holds the overnight lead while PokerStars blogger Marc Convey and recent GUKPT Luton champ Neil Channing are still in the hunt.

This is the first time the UKIPT has ventured into Scotland and the tournament will run for a total of four days with the final table scheduled for Aug. 22.

Edinburgh's world-famous Fringe Festival is currently running parallel to the event.
