UB's 'Roothlus' takes fifth at Festa

Adam Levy

Ultimate Bet is known for some of its most high-profile pros, including Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke, but it's one of the room's lesser-known "star" players who's making waves.

Not only did Adam Levy cash in six events at this year's WSOP, including a 48th-place finish in the Main Event, but he just took fifth place at the Festa al Lago Classic WPT main event. The $15,000 al Lago main event attracts a field of big-name pros, including some of the world's strongest tournament players.

With 368 total players amassing a prize pool of over $5.3 million, this seven-day event is a prestigious deep-stacked battle. The final table alone included some high-profile players: Joe Sebok, Michael DeMichele, Nenad Medic, Nam Le, Bertrand Grospellier and Adam Levy.

Adam left in fifth place after getting it all-in with A 9 against Grospellier's pocket queens. The queens turned into a set to send Levy packing with a $266,445 payday.

Adam Levy's induction to the UB Star Team came in mid October, after the powers that be decided he lived up to the team standards: an undisputed high level of skill, lots of integrity and great respect from the online poker community.

After going deep six times in the WSOP 2008, and sitting at a WPT final table, it's safe to say that Levy is thirsty to get his first major win under his belt. The way he's been running and playing, it wouldn't be surprising to see his first W come sooner rather than later.
