UBOC players jockeying for shot at Hellmuth
Day 5 of the UltimateBet Online Championship (UBOC) wrapped up yesterday, with a $13,000 win for thereal mccoy and some big moves on the points leaderboard.
The first order of business yesterday was the fifth event in the ten-day series, the $40,000 guarantee Limit Omaha Eight-or-Better showdown. Registration was busy and the prize pool grew to $50,000 before play started, and it wasn't long before some strong Internet pros began to stake their claim to it.
It came down to thereal mccoy and PearlJammed heads-up for the title, and it was the former taking down the last pot for a $13,000 win and a shiny UBOC bracelet.
rps5000 still holds down top spot on the leaderboard, but PearlJammed's second-place finish bumped him up to fourth in points, now only 76 behind the leader. A third-place finish for rkruok in the Limit Omaha event also pushed him up to third on the points leaderboard. Witz17 is second.
The eventual points winner scores a heads-up match against Phil Hellmuth for $10,000.
Next up, a $200 + $15 No-Limit Hold'em event with a $100,000 guarantee tonight at 8 p.m. (EST).
The final table results for the Limit Omaha Eight-or-Better event were as follows:
