UB Unveils Charity Tournamant Series

'This grassroots movement could mobilize more people to join our community in order to effectively make a difference.'

UB has introduced a series of online fundraising tournaments designed to benefit a number of charities during these tough economic times.

Second Sundays will include regularly scheduled $10 tournaments every second Sunday through June where players will compete for cash prizes, UB swag, entries to popular UB events, and exciting Rockwell Time and Monster JAMZ products.

Each event also includes a second-chance entry to a bonus freeroll for a chance at another $1,025 in various UB tournament entries, taking place the following day.

The fundraisers will run consecutively on Absolute Poker and proceeds will go to benefit charities including the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Road 2 Recovery's Injured Riders Fund, and the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.

"We're struggling with a difficult economy," said UB Pro Annie Duke. "Charitable organizations are experiencing a drastic decline in donations. Most people, though sympathetic to charitable causes, have simply cut back on personal expenditures.

"UB and Absolute are global communities. Its members have been very generous and supportive of charitable efforts in the past. This grassroots movement could mobilize more people to join our community in order to effectively make a difference.

"This is not about individuals each making large donations. It's about a large number of people collectively donating small amounts of money in order to make a difference."
