Jason Somerville is pretty familiar with Twitch.tv.

It marks the first time that poker has ever been featured on the front page of Twitch.tv.

Twitch began as an off-shoot of the defunct Justin.tv but has grown into the de facto site for streaming video games.

Lately online poker players have also taken to Twitch.tv in a big way with Jason Somerville leading the way.

Twitch streaming is hardly the only unique thing about the Global Poker Masters.

Created to be the World Cup of Poker the tournament will be an invitation-only, country-based, team event with no delay in the live stream.

Held at the Hilton Hotel in St. Julian’s, Malta, the Global Poker Masters will take place on the heels of EPT Malta with famous poker players from the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, Russia, France, Italy and the Ukraine set to participate.
