Tweet Relief: Welcome to the Dead Zone
The weeks directly following the WSOP always present a challenge for poker-starved players, media and fans.
The truth is that during the next couple weeks the poker world is… well, pretty dead.
A big part of the reason for the slowdown is that the WSOP, European Poker Tour and World Poker Tour are all on break until August at the earliest.
Admittedly there are smaller tournaments to be played but it’s during this time of year that big guns like Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth and Phil Ivey tend to step away from the game altogether.
So just what does the big name poker player do during the offseason? Here’s a look at what Negreanu, Ben Lamb, Doyle Brunson, Bryan Devonshire and others have been up to:
My ass got bucked off a horse this morning during round-up, now I'm icing my hand with a cold @CoorsLight.— Bryan Devonshire (@devopoker) July 26, 2012
Had a fun itinerary scheduled for this week that will now be replaced by a week of couch vegging. Might do Breaking Bad season 2.— Daniel Negreanu (@RealKidPoker) July 25, 2012
