Tweet Relief: Analyzing The Lederer Files
The poker world is buzzing about Howard Lederer finally breaking his 16-month-long silence about Full Tilt Poker today.
Everyone from Daniel Negreanu to Dan O’Brien to the poker media has weighed in on the controversial interview he gave to PokerNews.
While only two parts of the series have been released, people have already formed pretty steadfast opinions and at this point it appears very few people are rushing back to Team Lederer.
Here’s a look at some of the better Tweets on the subject with thoughts from Matt Keikoan, Brian Balsbaugh, Wicked Chops and even fake Howard Lederer.
Part 2 of #ledererfiles, I'm thinking "does Howard know anything about the inner workings of FT?" he talks as if he doesn't.— Matthew Keikoan (@MattKeikoan) September 18, 2012
I wonder how different the #LedererFiles would have been if interview took place after DOJ filed amended complaint?— onlinepokerreport (@OPReport) September 17, 2012
Let's let the whole interview with Howard Lederer play out before we start critiquing what is or isn't there.— Lance Bradley (@Lance_Bradley) September 18, 2012
I'd advise poker players to be very critical of the Lederer interview. He's a smart guy. He's going to make you want to believe him— Dan O'Brien (@DanOBrienPoker) September 18, 2012
One hour into the Lederer interview, so far zero apologies and zero admittance of any wrong doing on his part. Exactly what I expected.— Daniel Negreanu (@RealKidPoker) September 18, 2012
Things I've learned about Howard Lederer: He's not a financial guy, he's not an accountant.— Kevin Mathers (@Kevmath) September 18, 2012
Would love to see @navarrotells analyse the PokerNews videos of Howard Lederer and share his thoughts on his body language— Barry Carter (@Barry_Carter) September 18, 2012
The book on Ray Bitar in the industry was that he was an incompetent boob, but was bulletproof bc he had Chris & Howard's total backing.— Brian Balsbaugh (@Balsbaugh) September 18, 2012
HL: "I am one person in what was a very complicated situation. I don't have all the answers and all the facts." Fine-but you know the most.— Wicked Chops Poker (@wickedchops) September 18, 2012
“@pokerfuse: Part 2 of The Lederer Files 30:00 mark: "My greatest regret in all of this..." I bought the house in Malibu not in Hamptons— howard lederer (@HowardFLederer) September 18, 2012
What Lederer says about there not being a great culture of fund segregation back then does sound genuine. Probably the case until April 14.— Marco Valerio (@AgentMarco) September 18, 2012
Wasn't his department. #ledereranswers— Chris Moneymaker (@CMONEYMAKER) September 18, 2012
Any old people will remember the tv show Hogan's Heroes. Howard reminds me of the character Schultz- "I know nothing, I see nothing"— Matthew Keikoan (@MattKeikoan) September 18, 2012
