Torch lit for RedKings Olympic promotion

RedKings is giving poker players a chance to live out their Olympic dreams on its virtual poker tables this August.

The aptly named "Poker Games" start on Aug. 7 and will feature a total of 50 tournaments over three weeks running at all times of the day so players from around the world can get in on the action. There will be over $20,000 in guaranteed cash and prizes up for grabs over the span of the event.

There will be two opening ceremony freerolls on the same day for $1,000 and $500, but those are just appetizers for the smorgasbord to come over the next three weeks.

Players will compete on the global scale and be ranked on a country leaderboard and an individual leaderboard. Prizes like Sony PS3s and Nintendo Wiis, as well as gold, silver and bronze medals, will be up for grabs.

Poker formats will include sprints, marathons and even a triathlon, all designed for players of varying skill levels.
