Tony G named European Poker Player of the Month by William Hill

William Hill Poker has announced Tony G as winner of the European Poker Player of the Month award in the face of fierce competition with poker pros Tony Bloom and Iwan Jones.

Tony G emerged as the first place winner in last month's European Poker Championships GBP 5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event in London, taking home GBP 260,000 ($456,822) for his efforts. He then placed third in the 500 Euro Pot-Limit Omaha Poker Carnivals 2005 Summer Tournament in Vilnius, collecting 4,657 Euros ($5,715).

The European Poker Player of the Month award recipient is determined by a committee at William Hill Poker. Other winners of this award include Rob Hollink, Paul Maxfield (runner-up at the 2005 WPT Championship), and Andy Black (fifth place finisher in the 2005 WSOP Main Event).
