Tom Dwan wrestles $100k+ pot from Peter Eastgate

By: Arthur Crowson

The high-stakes games on PokerStars.com were firing last night with reigning World Champion Peter Eastgate dumping over $100,000 to online legend Tom "durrrr" Dwan.

For those keeping track at home the "durrrr Challenge" is still nowhere to be found and neither Dwan nor Antonius has stated when it will officially begin.

Dwan took a rare break from the nosebleed-stakes Full Tilt Poker games last night to get in on some nosebleed No-Limit Hold'em action on PokerStars against Eastgate.

Dwan, who plays on PokerStars as Hold_emNL, definitely seemed to have the advantage against Eastgate, as he won five of the top 10 MarketPulse biggest pots. Eastgate, or Isser as he's known online, only managed to win one, when he flopped a set of treys against Dwan's pocket kings.

Dwan would redeem himself with the pocket kings, however, as the largest pot of the night came when he was dealt K K. Eastgate and Dwan got into a bit of a raising war preflop and, getting a look at a board of J T 3, got it all-in, building the pot to $81,000.

After the turn and river bricked, Eastgate mucked his hand. Check out the hand details below to see if you can ascertain what he held.

According to MarketPulse data collected from the session, Eastgate finished down a whopping $285,000 (or if you would prefer approximately 1/30th of his $9 million WSOP Main Event victory), whereas Dwan finished up $113,413.

Dwan is now up to $1.5 million in Hold'em for 2009 but down considerably more than that in Pot-Limit Omaha.

Everyone following the high-stakes poker world is still on durrrr Challenge watch, but there are starting to be rumblings in the forums that the entire event was merely a publicity stunt.
