Titan Poker player wins $10k at WPS Costa Rica

The Spoils of War

Geir-Yngve Andersen from Norway qualified for the World Poker Showdown (WPS) Costa Rica through Titan Poker and enjoyed great success in the tournament, winning a total of $10,040.

Andersen's amazing WPS spell started in a $300+$40 No-Limit Texas Hold'em side event. The 36-year-old won the tournament, and took home $3,410 in prize money.

The Titan Poker qualifier put up a great performance in the main event as well. He reached the final table, finished in eighth place and received $6,630.

Andersen certainly enjoyed his time in Costa Rica.

"I want to move there," he said jokingly.

"People were very friendly and the tournament organizers did a tremendous job."

Back home in Norway, Andersen's Titan Poker success continued when he won $5,625 in the site's $250,000 guaranteed tournament.

His next challenge will be qualifying for the World Poker Showdown Bahamas "Deep Stack" Poker Open (BPO), taking place at the Cable Beach Resort in January 2008.

Titan Poker is holding a series of satellites for this event, awarding winners with a $7,000 all-expenses-paid trip to the Bahamas tournament. The next two BPO satellites will be held on Nov. 18 and Dec 9.
