Titan offers promotion of Olympic proportions
All eyes are on Beijing this month for the 2008 Summer Olympics, and Titan Poker is helping celebrate the history-making events with a promotion of its own.
The Olympic Challenge on Titan Poker opened up today exclusively to the poker site's Silver and Diamond VIP players and will continue until Aug. 20. During that time, contenders who earn 10,000 points on Titan Poker will gain entry into Titan Poker's Olympic Challenge Tournament on Aug. 22.
While the Olympics hand out medals, the Olympic Challenge will hand out four prize packages to winners.
"First prize won't be a gold medal, but a golden opportunity to win a share of the $1.5 million guaranteed prize pool at South Africa's Sun City $Million Poker Tour," said Titan Poker in a press release.
The winner of the Olympic Challenge tournament will also enjoy a free round of golf, a week's spa pass, a safari game drive or hot air balloon ride, and free tickets to a rock show in the $10,500 prize package.
Three more players will walk away with trips to live poker events as well. Second through fourth places will each receive a $4,500 Irish Winter Festival prize package.
Not only will the packages get the player to Ireland to play in the main event of the Irish Winter Festival, they will include a private Guinness welcome party before the tournament. The Irish Winter Festival will have an estimated €1 million prize pool, and it takes place in Dublin.
The Olympic action doesn't stop there for the tournament participants either. Titan Poker will also spread $6,000 in prize money to other players in the Olympic Challenge who make it into the money.
The Olympics just give Titan Poker its latest excuse to hand out prizes and trips to live poker tournaments - the poker site often makes a habit of special promotions for its players. For example, Titan Poker is also hosting super-satellites to send players to Australia for the Poker Cup 2008.
Players can buy in for as little as $4.40+40¢ to work their way up into the super-satellite that will hand out prize packages to the Melbourne event. These packages will also include a river cruise, winery tour and animal sanctuary excursion, affording players the full Australia experience inside and outside the cardroom.
