Time's short for VIP Poker Monte Carlo qualifier

The hours are numbered until VIP Poker's final qualifier for a seat at European Poker Tour Monte Carlo Grand Final next month.

A minimum of five $16,800 prize packages including tournament buy-in, airfare, accommodation and $500 in spending money are up for grabs.

The tour's grand final will be held in the Salles des Etoiles at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort March 28 - April 1. Last year's event featured a total prize pool of more than $3 million.

Final satellites to the event wrap up Saturday at VIP Poker in time for the March 3 final qualifier for the prize packages.

Daily satellites end today and the weekly events conclude tomorrow at 10 p.m. (EST).

Entry to tomorrow's freezeout event is priced at $168+$15, with 15-minute levels and $2,500 starting stacks.

The March 3 multi-table final gets down to business at 2 p.m. (EST) with freezeout play progressing at 15 minute levels. The $1,680+$100 buy-in offers players $3,500 in chips to start.
