Thrill is On: Failla Leads WPT Legends Final Six

Will Failla

Veteran grinder Will "The Thrill" Failla is in position for his first-ever WPT title as he leads heading into the final table at Legends of Poker in Los Angeles.

Failla, who has over $2 million in live tournament cashes in his career but no WPT final tables, has been circling the top of the chip counts since Day 1 at Legends and now holds the advantage coming in to the televised final table with 6.7 million in chips.

He leads second-biggest chip stack Joshua Pollock by around 1.4 million in chips.

Day 3 chip leader Jeff Vertes also held on to make the final table third in chips at 4 million. Ken Aldridge, Adam Aronson and 2011 WSOP bracelet winner Owais Ahmed round out the final six.

Day 4 at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles started with 21 players remaining including former WPT Champion Shawn Buchanan and noted pros Dan Heimiller, David Daneshgar, Brent Hanks, Matt "Ch0ppy" Kay, Ray Henson and Christina Lindley.

Of that group Buchanan, Kay and Henson came closest to making the final six but ultimately were eliminated in 13th, 10th and 7th place respectively.

Final-table play begins at 4 p.m. Pacific today and for the first-time in WPT history will be streamed live online on a one-hour delay with hole cards and analysis by the WPT's Tony Dunst.
