The Sunday Scoop: Reinkemeier is Sunday Million Champ

Tobias Reinkemeier
PokerNoob999: Not so noobie.

Big events on PokerStars and Full Tilt meant big money this Sunday with BadExtasy89 and Tobias “PokerNoob999” Reinkemeier finishing as the day’s biggest winners.

Reinkemeier had a lucrative session on PokerStars, winning the last Sunday Million before the WSOP begins Tuesday.

An accomplished German poker player with big results online and live, Reinkemeier earned $135,053 for the victory.

A total of 4,833 players bought in to the PokerStars Sunday Million this week, coming up just short of the $1 million guarantee and forcing PokerStars to chip $33,400 into the prize pool.

720 players in all would get a spot in the money. Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree pure-bubbled this event, busting in 721st.

When the final table was reached, Reinkemeier was second in chips with 11.3 million, trailing The_Anfied who led with 14.7 million.

A deal was agreed upon nine-handed, based on chip equity, and $20,000 was set aside for the winner.

Reinkenmeier enjoyed an almost 2-1 chip lead when the tourney got heads-up but it was a see-saw match that saw The_Anfied taking the chip lead and handing it back before Reinkemeier was able to put his opponent down for good.

Reinkemeier won a SCOOP title in 2009 and his total online poker tournament earnings now total more than $1.5 million.

He’s made his mark in the live arena as well, amassing over $2.2 million in winnings since he started playing tournaments in 2007.

Reinkemeier’s live results are highlighted by an EPT High Roller victory in Monte Carlo last year that earned him $1,272,698.

As no surprise then, he's also one of PokerListings Best Bets for the 2011 WSOP.

In total $529,930 was awarded to players who made the final table.
