The Sunday Scoop: Mizzi Takes Warm-Up

Sorel Mizzi added to his considerable online accolades last night by winning the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up.

Mizzi, who’s won almost every major online tournament including FTOPS and SCOOP, outlasted 4,786 players to secure a $149k pay day.

It’s the second time Mizzi has won the Warm-Up as he also took down $109k for winning it in the spring of 2007.

Meanwhile PokerStars’ biggest tournament – the Sunday Million – drew 8,214 players to create an impressive prize pool of $1.6 million.

Online poker pro Ari “Bodogari” Engel made an appearance at the final table but eventually bowed out in seventh place for $32k. ramondemon was the overall winner taking down $246k, the biggest score last night.

The PokerStars Sunday 500 attracted 1,027 players to establish a prize pool of $513k.

The final table had several notable players with reigning WSOP Main Event Champion Joe Cada coming in eighth for $10k and consistent grinder PeachyMer placing third for $48k. tRaMp$d0PrAy took the entire tournament down for $88k.

On Full Tilt the EatMyBluff8 outlasted 3,838 players to win the $750k guaranteed for first prize of $135k.

The Full Tilt Sunday Brawl went to timkrank for $109k and the Full Tilt Sunday Mulligan was won by Aleks Gutcu.

It wasn’t a huge score but 2010 November Niner John Racener won the Full Tilt $200 H.O.R.S.E. tournament for $9,000 last night.

Finally ACTIONDJ outlasted 943 players to win UB Poker’s $200k guaranteed for $44,920k.
