The Sunday Scoop: JustPushIt Good

Howard Lederer
Howard Lederer may be poker's most powerful man, according to Bluff Magazine's Power 20, but he was still shut out of the big scores Sunday.

On a night when Hollywood's best and brightest collected Oscar gold, poker's elite appeared to be shut out from the biggest scores online.

PokerStars' Sunday Million took back the top spot on the list of Sunday Majors with 9,147 players helping create a $1,829,400 prize pool.

Three-handed it was a short-stacked JustPushIt pushing for a deal and being ignored.

But after doubling up twice and watching SoulMaster7 ($136,198.83) bust third, JustPushIt actually beat WinnersClub ($192,087) heads-up to collect the $261,243.18 first-place prize.

Another 4,989 entered the Sunday Warm-Up on PokerStars, building a $997,800 prize pool.

With Maethi holding a massive chip lead, a four-way deal was struck.

Maethi still went on to claim the title and a total of $148,500 as kubuzkuz, Hallmonky2, and linzy69 all earned the $87,500 they had negotiated for themselves in the deal.

Just a week after multi-entries helped FTOPS XIX wrap with a record-breaking 116,901 entries and $39,599,432 in prize money, things came back down to earth on Full Tilt Poker.

This week, the online poker site's 750k Guaranteed drew 4,323 to create an $864,600 prize pool.

Athied87 walked away a winner and $152,679.71 richer when all was said and done.

Plus, wasonTwentyTwos earned $120,600 and The Sunday Brawl title outlasting a field of 3,015.
