The Sunday Scoop: Guarantees Laid To Waste
The overlays of the last few weeks became a thing of the past as huge crowds flocked to the majors on another busy Sunday in online poker.
As usual, the PokerStars Sunday Million was the day's biggest event with 8,278 players laying the $1.5 million guarantee to waste and creating a $1,655,600 prize pool that paid 1,260.
There were no deals this week as Troopaloop10 went on to book the win and $243,543.53 first-place prize.
However, runner-up MILIANOS68 ($177,977.00) and third-place finisher waynecoal ($124,170.00) still walked away with six-figure scores of their own.
Meanwhile, Veteran Team PokerStars Pro Barry "barryg1" Greenstein finished 1066th, just squeaking into the money.
Full Tilt's $750k Guarantee drew 3,903 players creating a $780,600 prize pool that paid 522 spots and rendered its guarantee useless. el_Scheffe took down the title and $138,205 there.
Even the $200K Guaranteed on UB drew 1,064, covering its nut. XJKPOKERX walked away with $47,518.24 and a win this time around.
Back on PokerStars, there were a couple more six-figure winners as the Sunday Warm-Up drew 4,603 players creating a prize pool of $920,600.
Limitless22 won it all, collecting $144,425.87 while arhigos21 settled for second-place money equalling $107,249.90.
In the meantime, Full Tilt's Sunday Brawl drew 2,662 with crisbus booking the $108,077.20 win.
Finally, Keven "Stamdogg" Stammen, the Celina, Ohio based pro who made two major final tables last week proved that was no fluke making ninth in The Sunday Mulligan on Full Tilt, which Caio Pimenta took down for $54,604.
