The Sunday Scoop: FTOPS Ups The Ante

The ante went up in online poker Sunday as the close of FTOPS XVIII saw even more than the usual millions up for grabs.

Gus Hansen hosted $600+$40 $3 million guaranteed FTOPS main event drew 5,023 players creating a $3,013,800 prize pool.

JHoWn took the title, coveted FTOPS jersey and the massive $515,359.80 first-place prize.

hilyaki finished runner-up, but had to be happy with the $385,642.20 consolation prize, while sik0tic27 ($256,173), acumen53 ($199,883.20), and kasper74 ($144,511.71) all walked away from the event with six-figure bankroll boosts.

tennisassxy won the the $2,000+$100 two-day FTOPS Event 29 that also wrapped Sunday, booking a $489,600 score.

The event drew 1,088 players creating a $2,176,000 prizepool and six figure paydays for a top five that included, Yubaball ($310,080), log1c07 ($229,568), goodvibe ($179,520), gomore ($136,000).

Phil "USCphildo" Collins finished eighth for $48,960.

Two more FTOP events completed the schedule.

A four-way deal left pixie183 with $202,484.41 in prize money and the title in the Steve Brecher hosted $240 + $16 Six-Max.

MrSoprano8 ($117,298.52), LeMeWinPlz ($86,915.11), and LoLGoodCall ($86,545.52) rounded out the top four.

In the meantime, timkrank collected $184,411.20 and the win in the John Dolan hosted $150+$13 Rebuy that saw newly minted Full Tilt Pro Annette "Annette_15" Obrestad make fifth for $52,816.80 while David "Doc" Sands finished 14th.

The PokerStars Sunday Million drew another bog crowd with 8,575 players dropping the $200+ 15 buy-in to help create a $1,715,000 prize pool.

PokerListings blogger Matt "All_in_at420" Stout came close to making the final table before dropping out in 14th place.

RICOFELIZ hung around to book the win and $252,276.50 score.

In the meantime, PokerStars' Sunday Warm-Up drew 4,748 players creating a total prize pool of $949,000.

In the end it was Pinowww ($148,975.39) who beat kenz085 ($110,628.40) heads-up to take the Warm-Up crown.

But it was the $215 Sunday 2nd Chance on PokerStars that had the most star power on this Sunday as Faraz "The-Toilet 0" Jaka got past a field of 1,573 players, plus a final table that included Hafiz "hafizzle" Khan, to get the win and $56,628 first prize.

Finally, VACANTSEAT won the UB $200k Guaranteed for $45,508.54. Team UB's "Hollywood" Dave Stann finished 15th.
