Production of Scandinavian Poker Masters begins

Scandinavian Poker Masters - The Game is a European version of the immensely popular High Stakes show. Poker pros, invited players and Internet qualifiers will play for big sums.

Some of the biggest names in European poker will play in Scandinavian Poker Masters, including Patrick Antonius, Tony "G" Gouga, Martin De Knijff, Per Hildebrand, Ilari Sahamies, Juha Helppi and David "The Devilfish" Ulliot.

However, before the main game can begin the 12 Internet qualifiers will first battle it out in two semifinals where the winner of each semifinal will win a place and the buy-in to the finals.

The main game is a cash game with a $15 ante and $100-$200 blinds. The minimum buy-in is $50,000. The players will slug it out for 9 hours; huge sums are expected to change hands. The show is scheduled to air in Sweden later this fall.
