The Master named Card Player's Player of the Year

Men "The Master" Nguyen has been named Card Player Magazine's 2005 Player of the Year, it was recently announced. The accolade was bestowed upon the pro player due to his consistency and closing speed in 2005.

The Master made a staggering 16 final tables and collected nearly $1 million in both large and small tournament events this past year. His victories include, among others, three World Series of Poker Circuit preliminary events, the Trump Classic, and two final table finishes at the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic in Las Vegas this past month.

This is Nguyen's fourth Player of the Year award from Card Player Magazine. Previously, he was awarded the honor in 1997, 2001, and 2003.
