GSN's newest Poker Royale No-Limit Texas Hold'em series is slated to air two back-to-back one hour episodes on Friday, October 7th at 10 p.m. (EST).
The series, which was announced this past July, will pit The James Woods Gang against The Unabombers, the former being led by James Woods and the latter by Phil Laak. The poker showdown was filmed at the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California, and will feature pros and celebrities battling it out for a $75,000 prize pot and bragging rights. Team captains chose their own teams, with the competition lasting a total of 7 Friday night episodes.
The James Woods Gang includes pros Kathy Liebert, Ted Forrest and Susie Isaacs along with TV stars Bob Goen and Nichole Sullivan. The Unabombers' line-up features pro players Cyndy Violette and Hassan Habib and TV stars Danny Masterson and Gail O'Grady. Actor turned pro player Jennifer Tilly will also play for boyfriend Laak's team. The series will once again be hosted by John Ahlers with Lisa Dergan as sideline reporter. Pro poker player Robert Williamson III will provide commentary.
Team captains will hand pick team members to participate in each qualifying match, with each player competing in a minimum of 3 games. Players will earn points based on where they finish; First place earns 10 points, second receives 8, third gets 6, fourth earns 4, and fifth receives 2. The team with most points will have chip count advantage at the start of final table play.
