Tevosov Takes Charge on Day 2 at EPT Prague
A Russian was leading EPT Prague after Day 1b and a Russian is leading the pack after Day 2.
Just not the same Russian.
Garri Tevosov, a former Russian Poker Series winner, has replaced Andrey Saenko at the top of the leaderboard after a big day that’s left him with a sizeable lead and 764,000 in chips.
He had to have a bit of good fortune to do so, however, winning a huge pot near the end of the day when his queens cracked Kevin MacPhee’s kings to put him over the top.
Tevosov will return to action on Day 3 a good 150k clear of the field and second-place Martin Finger.
Over 400 players came back for Day 2 at the Hilton in Prague but just 134 will have the privilege to join Tevosov and Finger for Day 3.
Among the bigger chip stacks to return include Dane Mads Wissing (565,200), Swede Kent Lundmark (323,000), Ireland’s Jude Ainsworth (313,000) and the UK’s Rupert Elder (313,700).
Also returning with plenty of room to make a run up the leaderboard are Chris Moorman (281,000), Liv Boeree (193,600), Mike "Timex" McDonald (141,300) and Johnny Lodden (74,500).
Big name bustouts today included Jonathan Duhamel, Gus Hansen, Eugene Katchalov, recent WPT Prague champ Andrey Pateychuk, WSOP runner-up Martin Staszko, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier and Lex Veldhuis.
A deep run by Moorman would be a boon for Luciano De Polo, who won a recent competition to redesign Moorman’s PokerStars avatar and will receive 5% of Moorman’s take.
The cash begins at place 104 so Moorman still has a way to go to clear the bubble however.
