Team PKR Pro adds Jake Cody
Jake Cody proved it’s possible to pick up a sponsorship deal post-Black Friday by joining Team PKR Pro this week.
"I'm very VERY excited about joining Team PKR Pro," said Cody. "I've been patient with sponsorship, waiting for the right deal to come along. It’s a great site to be involved with and I think I can help take it to the next level.”
Although he’s only 23-years-old, Cody has already built a poker resume that would take some players a lifetime.
Cody is the youngest player to win poker’s illustrious Triple Crown. He took down EPT Deauville for $1.2 million in 2010, WPT London for $425k also in 2010 and the $25k Heads-Up Event at the 2011 WSOP for $851k.
Most recently Cody made the final table of the 2011 WSOPE in Cannes, France, and ended up finishing in seventh place for $200,379. He’s only been active for three years on the live tournament circuit but he’s already won a total of $2.8 million from playing poker.
A native of Rochdale, Cody originally got his start playing online poker and after an initial deposit of $10 (the only deposit he ever made) he went on to successfully beat a variety of online MTTs and cash games on a regular basis.
Cody joins Sasha Walter, Scott Shelley, Marc Bariller, Sofia Lovgren, Vladimir Geshkenbein and James Sudworth on Team PKR Pro.
PKR Poker bills itself as the world’s most advanced poker room and is the only site that offers fully 3D graphics with life-like avatars.
To celebrate the Cody signing, PKR is running a special promotion called “JakeCody’s Pwn a Pro” and if you qualify for the event you can potentially win $500 by beating the English pro heads-up.
