Renowned tournament director Matt Savage will run Utimate Bet's Aruba Poker Classic once again.

Matt Savage is headed to Aruba.

Ultimate Bet confirmed Monday the respected Tournament Director will return to oversee the site's 2009 Aruba Poker Classic for the third consecutive year.

"Matt's natural ability to run a smooth and fair tournament and his talent for making it feel more like a party than a poker room is one of the many reasons why our Aruba event is still one of the most popular on the annual calendar," said Ultimate Bet's Phil Hellmuth.

The $5,500 main event runs Oct. 3-10 at the Radisson Aruba Resort, Casino & Spa. More than 500 players are expected to compete for a multi-event prize pool in excess of $6 million.

Savage, who has run tournaments for the WSOP, WPT and Aussie Millions in the past, says the Aruba event has become one of his favorites.

"In celebrating UB's 10th Anniversary, I am honored to once again be part of the Aruba Poker Classic," said the Tournament Directors Association founder and first member of the Poker Room Manager's Hall of Fame.

"With an extended tournament schedule, plus a group of floor staff and dealers that is second to none, 2009 is shaping up to be one for the 'scrapbook.'"

In 2008, Matt Brady won the title and $1 Million first-place prize.

Online satellites are available at Ultimate Bet and players can qualify through the site's STEP program for as little as 10 cents.

Should a 10 cent STEP winner go on to win the main event in Aruba they would also take home a $10 Million cash bonus from Ultimate Bet.
