Takechip, Bernard-bb Go Big: Top 10 Weekly Winners/Losers

Takechip and bernard-bb may not be the biggest names in poker but they were certainly amongst the biggest winners in the first week of 2012.

Bernard-bb was particularly impressive as he spun up over $300k in profit on PokerStars during a week that was relatively quiet.

Many of the bigger names, such as Ilari Sahamies, Rafi Amit and Skjervoy, either took the week off or broke even.

Viktor “Isildur1” Blom went on a huge heater in the first part of the week but donated most of it back and finished with a slim $30k profit this week. Could be a swingy year for the young Swede.

As always if you want a closer look at the high stakes action from the last week, including a collection of the biggest pots, it’s worth checking out our online poker stats section.

In the meantime here’s a complete breakdown of the 10 winners and losers during the first week of 2012.

Top 10 Online Poker Winners this Week

If bernard-bb can keep up this pace, he’ll have over $15 million in profit by the time 2012 is complete.

While that may be unlikely, bernard-bb was absolutely dominant this week and cruised to a $310k victory after 6,713 hands of online poker.

An underrated player on PokerStars, bernard-bb went through numerous swings in 2011 and eventually finished a relatively modest $76k in profit.

Considering he’s already quadrupled that number it’s safe to say that bernard-bb is off to a great start in 2012.

Meanwhile 1II|1II|1iI| continued his stellar play over the last couple months by winning $212,000. 1II|1II|1iI| has been on another level over the last few weeks and is up over $1.3 million since November.

Phil “takechip” D’Auteuil, who finished with over $1 million profit in 2011 got back to work this week by winning nearly $100k.

Top 10 Online Poker Losers this Week

Gavin “gavz101” Cochrane had one of the best starts in online poker history when he won nearly $2 million in the first few months of 2011.

Things have changed in 2012. So far Cochrane is the biggest loser of the year as he accumulated $191k in losses in the first week of action.

On the bright side last year February was by far Cochrane’s best month so a huge heater could be right around the corner.

The rest of the top 10 biggest losers list this week was littered with lesser-known players such as Horho and Locoo20.

Long90110, who some railbirds still steadfastly believe is Tom "durrrr" Dwan, dumped a total of $81k into the high stakes games.

Australian Martin “alexeimartov” Bradstreet may already be distracted by the Aussie Millions as he lost a total of $70k this week.

Here’s a complete look at the top 10 biggest losers this week:

1. gavz101: -$191,000
