Swedish player takes PL.com/GNUF freeroll

The Spoils of War

GNUF partnered with PokerListings.com to give their players a chance to win one heck of a freeroll last Friday with the eventual winner receiving a $13,000 package including buy-in plus expenses for the EPT Dublin.

When the dust settled the only player still standing was Lars Sjölin from Sweden.

The 42-year-old father of three from Katrineholm said he was thrilled to win the online tournament.

"It's fantastic," he said. "It's unreal and I'm still trying to understand what I've actually won. I'd like to tell all the other online players out there to keep trying because I never thought I would win something like this so you could be next."

Sjölin, who has a day job working for his family's cigar and tobacco shop, has been playing poker for four years now and was originally attracted to the game because it was simple to learn but very difficult to master.

These days he plays on GNUF almost daily although it depends on his mood. He was quick to point out that when it comes to choosing an online poker room GNUF makes a compelling argument.

"It's a good poker site with an easy client[ele] and that makes it fun to play," he said. "The players are right up my alley and the variety of games is also very good. There are plenty of different tournaments and the cash tables are always easy to access and frequently full. Their support is also very good. The best thing about it is a toll-free number you can call so you can get answers right away."

Sjölin has won a number of other tournaments but he mentioned this is the most prestigious one yet. Now he will turn his attention to the upcoming EPT Dublin and attempt to get his poker game in great shape before he goes. Although there will be a number of professional poker players in attendance Sjölin said he wasn't intimidated.

"Once you sit down at the table all that matters are the cards and the other players so that's all you're thinking about."

When asked what he would do if he won the EPT Dublin Sjölin answered, "I would probably black out but after that I would think about buying the family business and play lots and lots of poker."

PokerListings.com teams up with GNUF on a regular basis to offer freerolls and other promotions. Check the site often to see the latest promotion.

"I visit PokerListings.com a couple of times a week to keep me up to date," Sjölin said. "It's a great resource for any poker player looking for places to win at."
