Jean-Robert Bellande of Survivor: China fame is in contention for another $1m first-place prize.

This time, though, he doesn't need to outlast the field over 39 days in the jungle. He only has to hang on to his chip lead with 21 players left at the WPT Five Diamond Poker Classic at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

A surprising leader emerging from an elite field of 449 entries, Bellande bagged up 1.6m chips overnight to lead tough pros Christian Harder, Steven Silverman and Dan Smith, among others, into Day 5 tomorrow.

Sabat, Harder, Serock in Top 5

The 21 remaining players will be cut to just six by the end of Day 5 today in Las Vegas with several notable names in the hunt behind Bellande.

Keith Tilston sits in second with 1,274,000 while Eddy Sabat (1,026,000), Harder (980,000) and Joe Serock (949,000) round out the Top 5.
