Review

This book is actually comprised of many shorter poker books and articles, which makes it a comprehensive read on overall poker topics. It is a very good book on general poker theory and offers something for every type of player. The advice is accurate and can also be applied in high stakes games. Definitely one of the best reads on the market.

Doyle Brunson, a two-time World Series of Poker champion and nine-time WSOP gold bracelet winner, has again hand picked expert poker collaborators for this historic sequel. The main collaborators include: Daniel Negreanu, winner of multiple WSOP gold bracelets and the 2004 Poker Player of the Year; Lyle Berman, three-time WSOP gold bracelet winner; Bobby Baldwin, 1978 World Poker Champion; Mike Caro, poker theorist, teacher, and writer; Jennifer Harman, one of the best female poker players on the circut today; and, Todd Brunson, Doyle Brunson's son and a big tournament winner.

Included poker game variations are: Limit Hold'em (Jennifer Harman), Omaha Eight-or-Better (Bobby Baldwin), Seven-Card Stud High-Low Eight-or-Better (Todd Brunson), Pot-Limit Omaha High (Lyle Berman), Triple Draw (Daniel Negreanu), and No-Limit Hold'em (Doyle Brunson). Other content worth mentioning is general poker advice from Mike Caro, a tournament overview by Doyle Brunson (only 10 pages), and a short online poker section by Doyle Brunson.

Surprisingly, Brunson chose Daniel Negreanu to write about the relatively unknown poker variation Triple Draw. This is unexpected considering that today there is so much industry focus on poker tournaments, and especially Hold'em tournaments, which are among Negreanu's strongest games. As such, one is disappointed to see that these areas are not covered in greater detail. This could be because Negreanu himself is working on a poker book covering those areas, though it is disappointing nonetheless.

Also, Doyle Brunson's section on No-Limit Hold'em does not add enough fresh insights as compared to the first Super/System. The Limit Hold'em section by Jennifer Harman is great, especially considering how short the section is.

In total, it reads 624 pages.
