Sunday Scoop: nebo_blizko Picks Up $184k

Online players nebo_blizko and undaDISGUISE closed out the last Sunday Million and Sunday Warm-Up before the WCOOP takes over on PokerStars.

As usual thousands of players flocked to both major tournaments on PokerStars yesterday with millions up for grabs.

Next week the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker begins so the Sunday Million and Warm-Up will be on hold for several weeks.

Here’s a look at some of the highlight events on another busy day of Sunday majors:

PokerStars Sunday Million

Once again the PokerStars Sunday Million was the beast of the online tournament world as it drew 6,397 players to create a prizepool of over $1.2 million.

The Team PokerStars Pros were out in full force with Jason Mercier, Vicky Coren, Liv Boeree, Humberto Brenes, Mickey “mement_mori” Petersen and Sandra Naujoks all in the field.

Meanwhile Dutch Team Online member Richard Veenman made the deepest run of all PokerStars players.

The former Magic: The Gathering player made it to the final two tables before finally falling to the rail in 15th place for $5,473.

Nebo_blizko was one of the biggest stacks heading into the final table but everyone was chasing Swedish player Elina2008 who had over 20 million chips and was the overwhelming chip leader.

Elina2008 finally fell in third place leading to a heads-up match between nebo_blizko and ChaseTh3Ace.

Nebo_blizko, who was playing from the Ukraine, won the tournament with pocket kings against ChaseTh3Ace’s Jack-Seven suited.

PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up

South Africa’s undaDISGUISE outlasted 3,094 players to take down nearly $100k in the Sunday Warm-Up this week.

The tournament once again easily surpassed the $500k guaranteed prizepool with well over $600k up for grabs.

The Team PokerStars Pros were few and far between in the Warm-Up although Jason Mercier nearly cashed, coming in 537th place.

Canadian tunnny, who won a Super Tuesday event last year, finished in 10th place to become the final table bubble boy.

undaDISGUISE entered the final table as one of the middle stacks but quickly went to work busting NhFy in a massive three-way pot for 6.5 million.

Despite his strong play, undaDISGUISE was at a chip disadvantage when he got down to heads-up against ozenc but quickly flipped the tables on his Austrian opponent.

unaDISGUISE binked the definitive coin flip with ace-queen against ozenc’s pocket jacks to win the tournament.

iPoker $150,000 Guaranteed

The iPoker $150k Guaranteed, which is available on Titan Poker, William Hill Poker and Winner.com Poker, continues to be a strong contender for players looking for an alternative to Sundays on PokerStars.

Yesterday the $215 buy-in tournament attracted 153 players to create a prizepool of $183,400.

Xuan “xxl23” Liu and Griffin “FlushEntity” Benger were a couple of the notable players to get in on the action, although they didn’t make the money.

Instead VagabundoCazador would go all the way and eventually secure the $31k first-place prize.
