Sunday Million now $215 every week
By Sarah Polson
Change is in the air at PokerStars, and it's something that may put a smile on a lot of online poker players' faces.
The Sunday Million will no longer shift between different buy-ins: the poker site has decided to set it permanently at $200+$15 every week.
Previously, PokerStars shifted the buy-in once a month up to $500+$30, while the rest of the month played out at a cost of $200+$15.
On May 25, the poker site announced that monthly alteration would no longer happen.
So for $215 each week, players will have a shot at a $1 million guaranteed prize pool, and at a guaranteed first-place prize of more than $100,000.
Many players will find their way into the tournament for even less, however. PokerStars offers satellites for as little as $3, and they take place almost any time of the day.
For all the poker fans out there who are worried about losing the $500+$30 buy-in event, PokerStars has a solution for that as well.
The poker site has added a $500+$30 weekly event on Sundays with a $250,000 guarantee. It will run at 5:30 p.m. ET, an hour after the Sunday Million's usual 4:30 p.m. start.
