While names like Gavin Smith and Jeffrey Papola failed to make it, high-stakes circuit regular Bobby Suer retains a shot at his career best score heading into the Borgata Winter Poker Open final table in Atlantic City Friday.

World Series of Poker bracelet winners Smith and Papola finished 21st and 37th respectively as Ukrainian Vadim Shlez, who has a handful of WSOP cashes on his short resume, built a substantial chip lead heading into the 10-handed final.

Just under him sits the unknown LJ Sande, Atlantic City grinder Trevor Savage and Suer, who would eclipse the $501,082 he earned making runner-up at the 2009 WPT Southern Poker Championship with a win.

Osafyefo Greene, Atlantic City regular Gil Sacks, New Yorker Steve Ryan, 2008 WPT Borgata finisher Pat Carney, Virginian Tom Hu and North Carolina's Allan Vrooman round out the final ten.

The final table is set ot go off at 11 a.m. ET Friday with a $533,210 first-place prize on the line.

Everyone in the top ten is guaranteed at least $28,729.
