The Small Town Poker Tour (STPT) and Noble Poker have announced their special online event will commence on May 27, 2006, as the first leg of a series of tournaments leading up to the STPT World Amateur Finals to be held in Las Vegas.
"We are very excited about this event," stated Mark Fracalossi, executive producer of the STPT. "Many players from around the world will not be able to attend our land based events, but our partnership with Noble Poker will help us reach players in all parts of the world," Fracalossi added.
Hailed as the world's largest amateur poker series, the STPT has launched a global search for the world's best amateur poker player. In recent months, STPT representatives have been spotted scouting locations in the United States, Australia, Canada, Europe, and Asia.
The Small Town Poker Tour will feature a cross-country search for the host nation's best amateur poker player. Filming for the debut television series is underway in the United States, with the production focusing on the tour's "small town flavor." No-Limit Texas Hold'em tournament finals are being played out in casinos while the remainder of the tour consists of back road poker playing.
All money raised by the tour will be donated to local charities. At the end of the series, all regional winners will come together to compete in the STPT World Amateur Finals for the grand prize and the title of the Small Town Poker Champion.
Upcoming events include the STPT Baltic Championships, with stops in Demark, Sweden, and Estonia.
