The European Poker Tour (EPT) is getting bigger, and so are the stakes. In the upcoming season, the standard buy-in for EPT events will be €8,000 (approximately $10,000).

According to EPT executive John Duthie, the decision to up the stakes is a natural step in the development of the tour.

"The decision was based on the limited number of seats we have to each EPT tournament, and the fact that our €10,000 tournament this spring, EPT Grand Final, proved to be very popular," said John Duthie.

The raised standard buy-in is not the only new feature for season IV of the European Poker Tour. Two new tournaments have been added to the schedule. PokerStars Caribbean Adventure at the Bahamas and EPT Prag in the Czech Republic are the new additions.
