Spanish player goes for Round 2 in APT

$50k pot scooped by Mark Newhouse

Julio Diaz is turning out to be a master of the online qualifiers at Titan Poker. The Spanish poker player earned a seat in the Asian Poker Tour Macau back in June, and now he's picked up a seat in the APT Manila event as well.

When Diaz, who plays as porras on Titan Poker, picked up his seat to the August Macau event, he did it through an $80 satellite.

After his win he said, "I'd like to thank Titan Poker for the extraordinary opportunity to take part in such an important tournament as the APT Macau."

He turned that opportunity into a final-table finish at the event as well. He finished in fifth place to with $514,600 HKD.

Titan Poker has been hosting twice-weekly supersatellites for the APT Manila event, and Diaz managed to pick himself up another prize package.

"It's a big honor for me to represent Titan Poker again at an APT tournament. They have been great to me," Diaz said.

"After winning fifth place at Macau, I really appreciated the excellent treatment I received from Titan Poker's representatives in China. I am expecting to repeat in Manila, achieving nothing less than my previous tournament performance."

The Manila event will start off 2009 for the APT. It takes place Jan. 27 through Feb. 1 and will have a $2,700 buy-in.

"The exciting poker action and growing prize pools offered by the 2009 Asian Poker Tour are attracting scores of elite players throughout the world to participate in this tournament series," said Titan Poker in a press release.

Along with seats to the APT, Titan Poker regularly awards prize packages to major live poker events to its players. It has sent players to the Aussie Millions, the World Series of Poker, the Irish Open and more.

Titan Poker is also one of the poker sites where players can participate in the European Championship of Online Poker III.
