Spanish player fifth to qualify for Tournament Titan
By Sarah Polson
Seats in the Tournament Titan are starting to fill up as Titan Poker announced a fifth player to qualify for the limited-seat tournament with a $1 million guaranteed prize pool. Jordi Bonell, a father of two from Spain, claimed the seat after making the final table of the $2,000 GP Freezeout three consecutive times.
Bonell is fairly new to online poker having been playing for less than a year so far. Known as "rubeo" online, he spent a total of $33 to play in the three tournaments that earned him a spot in the Tournament Titan where he will walk away with at least $25,000. Bonnel himself was surprised by his achievement.
"It just seemed too easy. My wife even said to me that she thought it was too easy to be true," Bonnel said. "I nearly didn't even ask the Titan support team if I had qualified, as I just couldn't believe that it was possible. I cannot believe that his is real. It has brought me enormous joy."
The Tournament Titan promotion was started to find the world's best and most consistent poker tournament player. To qualify for one of the 20 seats in the final tournament, a player has to make three consecutive final tables in any of the poker room's regularly scheduled participating tournaments.
The participating daily tournaments have $5 + 50¢ or $10 + $1 buy-ins. Players can also qualify through the $15,000 Guaranteed tournament with a $30 + $3 buy-in on Fridays, the $15,000 GP Freezeout with a $50 + $5 buy-in on Saturdays, and the $25,000 Guaranteed tournament with a $100 + $9 buy-in on Sundays.
