South Crushes Action-Filled Weekend

Cole South

Cole South destroyed some of the biggest names on Full Tilt this weekend earning over $640k in the process.

Perhaps due to the massive swings at $500/$1,000 induced by Isildur1 at the end of 2009, the majority of online high-stakes in 2010 seems to be playing out at $300/$600.

Despite the lower stakes the swings in 2010 have been anything but tame.

Over the weekend many the biggest names in online poker took to the felt in a series of high-octane sessions, with some surprising final results.

South was the biggest story over the weekend winning $640,610 from the PLO tables. His latest score makes him just one of five players to have earned over $1 million in 2010. South currently sits in second place at $1.5 million.

Last year's biggest winner, Patrik Antonius, took a staggering $612k hit, bringing him down to over $1.7 million in losses for 2010.

To put this number into perspective the second biggest loser this year is Richard Ashby who's down $803k, less than half the amount of Antonius.

Last year's biggest loser, Gus Hansen, crushed the 7-Game tables making $430k. His weekend win puts Hansen back on top as the year's biggest winner up over $1.7 million.

Tom "durrrr" Dwan continues to struggle at the tables, losing over $330k (including his sessions from earlier this morning).  On the year, Dwan currently sits down around $400k.

Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies continues to crush the PLO tables, but was unable to stay afloat at 7-Game, resulting in a small loss of around $30k over the weekend.

Below are three of the largest pots from the weekend. For more online pot re-plays, head to MaketPulse.
