Smart Poker Table prevents cheating
By Erik Sylven
Four students at Purdue University in Indiana have created a Smart Poker Table that keeps track of where poker chips have been placed on the table.
With the help of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, the table tracks the movement of the chips, and each player can get access to the information through their own keypad and LCD screen.
In addition to this, stats will be recorded on a Web page for future reference.
"Our project aims to simplify the poker playing experience by providing each player at the table with information about the game in process," the inventors have stated on their Web page.
Not only will the Smart Poker Table make the game a lot easier; it will also prevent players from cheating with their chips.
