The Small Town Poker Tour (STPT) has confirmed plans to bring the tour to Denmark, the first European country to be announced as a location for the show. According to Mark Fracalossi, executive producer of the STPT, "We are happy to announce that Denmark will be the first stop on the European Small Town Poker Tour. We have received many letters of nomination from all of Europe but Denmark responded more than any other country. We are going to be visiting possible venues over the next few weeks."
The Small Town Poker Tour will feature a cross-country search for the host nation's best amateur poker player. Slated to be filmed for a debut television series in the United States this year, the production will focus on the tour's "small town flavor," with No-Limit Texas Hold'em tournament finals played out in casinos and the remainder of the tour consisting of back road poker playing. All money raised by the tour will be donated to local charities. At the end of the series, all regional winners will come together in a cash and prize-filled season finale naming the Small Town Poker Champion.
Hailed as the world's largest amateur poker series, the STPT has launched a global search for the world's best amateur poker player. In recent months, STPT representatives have been spotted scouting locations in the United States, Australia, Canada, Europe, and Asia.
