The Small Town Poker Tour (STPT) and its parent company AMT Media LLC. have announced the newest destination for their innovative television series: Australia.
According to Mark Fracalossi, CEO of AMT Media LLC., the date for the Aussie tour was pushed up as a result of overwhelming interest in the upcoming American tour. He revealed the format for the STPT down under will mirror that of the US tour, and that representatives will travel to Australia in the coming weeks to scout locations for the six-venue series.
The Small Town Poker Tour will feature a cross-country search for the nation's best amateur poker player. Slated to be filmed for a debut television series in the United States, the production will focus on the tour's 'small town flavor', with No-Limit Texas Hold'em tournament finals played out in casinos and the remainder of the tour consisting of back road poker playing. All money raised by the tour will be donated to local charities.
The production team includes "The Division", which is responsible for creating and managing the STPT's marketing and promotional campaigns, and Make It Happen Productions, which has been hired to run television production along with Billy Frank. The tour has signed Matt Savage as tournament director. Savage is widely recognized across the globe for his successes as tournament director of the World Series of Poker, among other prestigious international events.
In addition to Australia and the United States, the STPT is currently negotiating deals to run tours in Canada, Europe, and Asia.
