Wife of murdered poker pro pleads not guilty

Las Vegas
By Erin Warner
The wife of slain poker player Bill Gustafik pleaded not guilty to his murder in Las Vegas Thursday, and her lawyer says she may seek an insanity defense.
Rockcastle is accused of stabbing her husband, a chiropractor-turned-poker-pro nicknamed "The Manipulator," in their swank Las Vegas condo May 23.
The strange circumstances of the murder and Rockcastle's current mental state may cause the defense to an insanity plea, a lawyer for Rockcastle told the Associated Press.
A Clark County grand jury indicted Rockcastle May 23, the AP reports, accusing her of premeditated murder.
Gustafik's body was found April13 after police were called to the Panorama Tours near the Las Vegas strip, where the poker play had died as the result of stab wounds.
Rockcastle was found unconscious three days later at a motel in California after sending out a mass confessional e-mail to friends and family.
A judge set the 49-year-old's trial for Oct. 29. Rockcastle has been in jail without bail in Clark County, Nev.
